Detail Review: Masala films can also be made in Malayalam cinema, for example ‘Kaduva’

Detail Review: Sometimes one gets to see an entire masala film in Malayalam language by chance, but even then its script and direction are so fine that one cannot remain without praising the film. Recently ‘Kaduva’, which means lion, was released on Amazon Prime Video. If the dance song is left for a moment, then this film is a classic revenge story. Kaduva will also be added to the category of hit films of famous director Shaji Kailas, as there is a lot of truth in its story, just stunts and action are kept exactly like masala films.

The film’s hero Prithviraj has also got to do such a film after a long time and hence he has also said in his interview that he had a lot of fun doing this film and he would not back down from doing more such films. Malayalam masala film which has action, emotion, dialoguebaazi, excellent stunts and beautiful Kerala, seeing such bitterness will introduce you to another dimension of Malayalam cinema. The film is strong, it should be watched immediately.

Nowadays, films presenting the hero by making them larger than life have started running again. Bahubali, Pushpa, KGF and other similar movies are being liked nowadays. The reason for this can also be the boycott of Hindi films and also the story of these films. The fun of watching Kaduva on the big screen would be something else, but currently this film is available on Amazon Prime Video. Kaduva, the biggest Malayalam film of this year, also made a lot of noise at the box office. In the 1990s, Kaduvakunnell Kuriacha (Prithviraj) aka Kaduva, the owner of a very large plantation, clashes with IG Joseph Chandy Ouseppukutty (Vivek Oberoi).

Actually, Kaduva is a bit angry but he always supports the right. A new pastor arrives at his village church who is accused of molesting minor girls in private. Kaduva wants to catch him red handed but because of Joseph’s mother, he misses that opportunity and Kaduwa tells his mother good and bad. From here the fight between the two starts and Joseph, seeing the opportunity, with the help of his political bosses, gets Kaduva thrown in jail. During this, he burns Kaduva’s plantation with the help of his policemen, repeatedly raids his house, also vandalizes Kaduva’s father’s car.

Unable to find any evidence, Kaduwa is out on bail and, before his cunning mind, gets Joseph’s political bosses overthrown, to overthrow the government by feeding opposition party leaders money. All the cases against Kaduva are withdrawn and Joseph is finally suspended in the corruption case. Joseph sends a notorious goon to kill Kaduwa but Kaduwa kills him too and eventually fights with Joseph where Kaduwa wins. On his way to the prison, Joseph tells Kaduva that the fight is not over yet.

There is no doubt about Prithviraj’s acting ability, but his speaking eyes sometimes drag the entire scene. He speaks slowly, shouts less but while hitting, fights with all his might. The film also has wonderful dialogues. Jeenu Abraham, who came into the industry as a writer, has also directed a film named Adam John about Prithviraj. Jeenu has put clapping dialogues in this film, which the audience has liked very much. Both director Shaji and writer Jeenu have worked with Prithviraj many times in the past and hence have been able to get such a masala role done by a sensitive actor like Prithviraj. Mathew Thomas, an assistant of Jeenu, had also announced to make a film on this story named Kaduva with Suresh Gopi in the lead role.

Court case happened and Jeenu won the case due to which Mathew’s film could not be made. Another strong actor named Biju Thomas was going to be given the role of IG in the National Award winning Prithviraj starrer “Ayyapanam Koshiyam”, but in that film also Prithviraj and Biju had a mutual fight and in Kaduva, so the audience got something new. Can’t get to see. After a great search, Vivek Oberoi was approached for this role. He too had said yes as soon as he heard the story. Vivek’s role is also good and Vivek has played this role to the best of his ability. They are not afraid or oppressed by Prithviraj, but use various tactics to defeat and humiliate him. Not only kill but also do a lot of washing of Prithviraj. The rest of the actors are almost ordinary as the focus has been kept solely on Prithviraj and Vivek. The roles of Kalabhavan Shajon and Dilish Pothan are small but they also leave a huge impact in their respective roles. There was very little for Sanyukta Menon to do.

The music of Jacques Bejoy in the film makes each and every scene great, especially the action sequences. Kanal Kannan’s stunts are filmy throughout and are very closely intertwined in the story. Seeing the prison fight, it is natural to remember scenes from many simple Hindi films, but the fight that is the best is when the police team that went to arrest Prithviraj stops him on the way and talks about beating him up, Prithvi The way in which the entire team washes, it gives fun.

There was no novelty in the story but cinematographer Abhinandan Ramanujam has shot the action sequences and stunts with great grandeur, adding to the scale of the film. For this reason, Kaduva also rocked the box office and did a business of more than 50 crores. For the Malayalam film industry, which gives priority to the story, a successful film at the box office works as a lifesaver. Both Prithviraj starrer Janaganaman and Kaduva have given some relief to the Malayalam box office. Kaduva is a masala entertainer, although it does not have dancing like Pushpa, yet there is something more to experience than watching this type of film, that if the story is good then it can be presented in a masala style and the audience must watch it. Will.
