This is a very short procedure and takes about five minutes.
When is this test done
HSG test cannot be done as per your convenience. Usually doctors get it done before the end of the period and before ovulation. This time is in the middle of the first 14 days of the period i.e. 7-8 days after the arrival of the period.
How is this test done
Doctors usually do this test in clickin itself. For this, an X-ray image of the fallopian tube area is taken by lying on a table. This X-ray is called a fluoroscope. For this, the doctor inserts a speculum in the vagina so that it remains open. Along with this, the doctor cleans the cervix. The lower part of the uterus is called the cervix. After this the doctor inserts a thin tube into the cervix. This thin tube is called a cannula. The speculum is taken out along with the cannula being inserted into the cervix. After this, iodine-rich liquids are inserted in the uterus. Uterus and fallopian tubes become visible due to iodine fluid contrast. After doing this process, the doctor takes pictures with fluoroscope x-ray. In this picture, information about the open or closed of your fallopian tubes is available.
There is slight pain in the test
