When the artery of the blood becomes swollen due to some reason and the blood vessel starts weakening, then the vein swells like a balloon and it bursts due to lack of timely treatment. Which is called Aneurysm Rupture. This makes the patient’s condition critical. Therefore, it is necessary to take measures to prevent it. In this direction, new research has been done by the researchers of the American Heart Association. Study It has been found that drugs to lower blood pressure (RAAS inhibitors) can reduce the risk of aneurysm rupture by 18%.
This research was done on more than 3000 people living in different places, who were suffering from high blood pressure and brain aneurysm. According to the findings of this study published in the Hypertension Journal, aneurysms occurring in the arteries of the brain are called intracranial aneurysms. If an intracranial aneurysm ruptures, that is, if it bursts, then the blood spreads to the brain and then the supply of oxygen to that place is interrupted. This can lead to hemorrhagic stroke, coma and can even lead to death.
If we talk about the total stroke cases in the world, then the cases of aneurysm stroke are only 3 to 5 percent, but the death toll is higher in comparison to other strokes. Not only this, even if you recover from it, then there is also a big reason for disability.
what the experts say
According to researchers, RAAS inhibitors drugs are used in the treatment of high blood pressure, which blocks the effect of IAS. Qinghai huang, senior researcher of this study and specialist in neurosurgery at Changhai Hospital, said that half of the patients with intracranial aneurysm also suffer from high blood pressure, which causes vascular inflammation and increases the risk of aneurysm rupture.

One third of aneurysm patients die and the rest of the survivors depend on others for their daily work for life. In such a situation, it is necessary to control the risk factors so that aneurysm rupture can be prevented.
How did the study happen?
The study included more than 3000 adults who were suffering from high blood pressure and intracranial aneurysms. Of these participants in the study, one-third were men and the remaining two-thirds were women. Their average age was 61 years. Participants were divided according to their blood pressure status into a control group (normal blood pressure using antihypertensives) or an uncontrol group (blood pressure measurement of 140/90 or greater despite the use of antihypertensive drugs).

His blood pressure measurements were also recorded three months before he was admitted to the hospital due to an aneurysm. The analysis found that 32% of participants taking RAAS inhibitors had an intracranial aneurysm rupture, compared to 67 percent of participants taking non-inhibitor RAAS.
What happened in the study
Qinghai Huang said that we were surprised that those who had high blood pressure control and took RAAS inhibitors had a lower risk of aneurysm rupture than those who took non-RAAS inhibitors. In this way, our study indicates that the risk of aneurysm rupture can be reduced if appropriate antihypertensive drugs are used to keep blood pressure normal. He said that based on these data, we estimate that if RAAS inhibitors are given to all patients with high blood pressure and cranial aneurysm, then the cases of aneurysm rupture can be reduced by about 18 percent.
