World Samosa Day 2022: On hearing the name of samosas, a smile comes on everyone’s face, whether children or elders. Samosa is eaten with great fervor in almost every Indian household. Samosa is one of the most famous street food in the country. It is because of the fans of samosas that World Samosa Day is being celebrated every year on 05 September. Apart from potato stuffing, samosas are also made in many ways. Even sweet samosas prepared from mawa are very much liked. However, today we will tell you the recipe of making samosas that are traditionally prepared from potatoes.
As soon as you step out of the house, samosas are seen being sold at the shops and handcarts. Even today, if you like to eat samosas and want to make them at home, then we are telling you a very easy recipe to make samosas, with the help of which you can prepare samosas full of taste.

Ingredients for making Samosa
Maida – 2 cups
Potato – 3-4
Peas – 1/2 cup
Ginger-green chili paste – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
Amchur – 1 tsp
Fennel Powder – 1 tsp
Cumin – 1/2 tsp
Ghee – 3 tbsp
Ajwain – 1 tsp
Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves – 3 tbsp
Mint leaves – 7-8
Oil – for frying
Salt – as per taste

how to make samosa
To make samosa, first put potatoes and peas in a pressure cooker and boil them after adding water and a pinch of salt. When the potatoes and peas are boiled, take them out in a large sieve and drain off the excess water. After this, peel the potatoes and cut them into small pieces. After this keep the potato and peas aside.

Now put all purpose flour in a plate or parat and mix it all by adding celery, ghee and a little salt. Now add little water to this mixture and knead the dough. Keep in mind that the dough has to be kneaded a little bit. After this, cover the dough with a wet cloth and keep it aside for 20 minutes. In the meantime, start the process of preparing the masala for the samosas.
First of all, put 2 tbsp oil in a pan and heat it on medium flame. When the oil becomes hot, add cumin seeds and ginger-green chili paste and fry. After 1 minute, add boiled peas and fry it. After some time add coriander powder, garam masala, mango powder, red chili powder and fennel and mix it well with the peas with the help of a ladle.

After roasting the spices for 1 minute, add chopped potatoes and mix them with the spices with a ladle and cook by adding salt as per the requirement. After cooking for 2-3 minutes, add green coriander leaves and mint leaves and mix it well with the mixture. After this, turn off the gas and take out the spices in a big bowl or vessel and keep it aside.

Now take the dough and after kneading it once more, prepare balls of equal parts of it. Now take a ball and roll it keeping it on a flat place. After this cut it into two halves with the help of a knife. After this take a portion and apply some water on the edge from where it was cut. After this, bend it giving it the shape of a cone. Now put a pea grain in this mon and then according to the capacity, fill the stuffing of potato masala in it and close it by pressing.
Similarly prepare samosas from all the balls one by one and keep them aside in a plate. Now put oil in a pan and heat it on medium flame. When the oil becomes hot, add samosas to it and deep fry them. Fry the samosas until their color turns golden brown. It will take 10-15 minutes to fry the samosas. After that take them out in a plate. Similarly fry all the samosas. Your delicious samosas are ready, serve them with chutney, tomato sauce.
